Florida Trooper Bullock receives large donation from Shield Republic

Patriotic lifestyle brand presented check in memory of fallen Florida trooper

Shield Republic Charities’ raised more than $14,500 through apparel fundraiser for family of officer Joseph Bullock

Smithfield, N.C. — March 12, 2020 — Shield Republic Charities presented a check this week to the family of officer Joseph Bullock, a Florida highway patrol officer who was killed in the line of duty in February.

On Wednesday, March 12, the charitable arm of the American lifestyle brand team presented a check for $14,527.64 to Trooper Bullock’s surviving family, including his parents and two sisters, at the close of their “Hold the Line” apparel fundraiser honoring the officer’s sacrifice.

Trooper Bullock was fatally shot while assisting a disabled veteran whose car became stuck on a roadside swale on Interstate 95 near Palm City in Martin County, Florida. The driver later became agitated during the stop, pulled out a gun, and shot Trooper Bullock in the head. The driver then threatened to shoot others on the scene when a Riviera Beach police officer passing by saw the commotion and shot the suspect dead.

Trooper Bullock served with the  Florida Highway Patrol for more than 18 years out of Troop L Barracks in Fort Pierce, Florida. He was also a veteran who served with the United States Air Force.

“Trooper Bullock bravely sacrificed his life to help someone in need,” said Charlie Romero, spokesperson for Shield Republic. “We are so honored to present this Hold the Line check to his family members in the honor of a noble first responder who fulfilled his duty to serve and protect to the very last moments of his life.”

Shield Republic’s “Hold the Line” apparel fundraiser for Trooper Bullock featured a line of commemorative products honoring the fallen officer and his contribution to his community.

Everything sold through a Hold the Line fundraiser is designed, printed, and shipped in the USA, with 100 percent of net profits from each fundraiser donated to fallen heroes’ families. To date, Hold the Line fundraisers have raised more than $100,000 for the families and units of fallen first responders, police officers and K9 police dogs.
