Wyatt Maser, Deputy Sheriff Bonneville Co. Idaho donation

Idaho deputy killed in crash to be remembered with special apparel fundraiser

Shield Republic will raise funds for family of Bonneville deputy Wyatt Maser through ‘Hold the Line’ campaign

Smithfield, N.C. — May 20, 2020 — A young deputy killed in the line of duty in Idaho this week will be honored with a special apparel fundraiser for his family.

Shield Republic Charities, the foundation of American lifestyle brand Shield Republic, will recognize the sacrifice of Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Wyatt Maser with a new “Hold the Line” campaign featuring commemorative apparel including t-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, hoodies, ladies’ tank tops and decals. All net proceeds from the sale will be donated to the deputy’s family.

Deputy Maser, 23, lost his life on duty in the early hours of Monday, May 18 while responding to a single-vehicle crash on Bone Road in Bonneville County. What began as a crash response quickly escalated into a tactical situation, as the driver was experiencing mental distress and left her vehicle with a machete in hand. Deputy Maser was working to take the woman into custody as other first responders arrived on the scene to provide backup. That’s when another deputy accidentally struck Maser with his cruiser.

The injured deputy was transported to a medical center in Idaho Falls, where he later lost his life after attempts to revive him.

Maser, who had served with the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office for a little more than a year, is survived by his wife and an infant daughter.

“At Shield Republic, we were saddened to learn of the untimely loss of this heroic young first responder,” said Charlie Romero, spokesperson for Shield Republic. “We hope our new Hold the Line fundraiser in Deputy Maser’s honor brings comfort to his wife and family as well as to his colleagues at the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office during this difficult time.”
