Shield Republic Charities, a charitable foundation in Johnston County, launched a new Christmas giving program this holiday season.
The charity worked with local groups to identify and help families who have been struggling through prolonged difficulties and are not financially able to provide gifts to their loved ones on Christmas Day.
The charity is an arm of Shield Republic, an apparel company established in 2016 and headquartered at 226 E. Market St. in Smithfield.
