Eliminating the 2nd Amendment Remains the Main Goal of the Liberal Left

What do liberals love about America? You’d be hard-pressed to answer that question since they hate pretty much everything that our country stands for. On the other hand, if I were to ask you as to what they hate the most about America, you’d be able to answer it quite easily – the Second Amendment.

The Second Amendment has been a thorn in the flesh of progressive liberals for a long time now. From social workers to presidential candidates – the dream of the average left-liberal is to disarm Americans.

Why Left-Liberals Hate the Second Amendment

Left-liberals hate the Second Amendment primarily because they do not view the citizenry as individuals, but as subjects. They believe that the government should decide everything for its subjects – right from what you can wear to what you can eat, what you can say in a public place, whom you can associate with, and what you can think.

In other words, they want the citizenry to remain in a state of perpetual childhood and suck the teats of the welfare state. The idea of an armed citizenry that can think for themselves, stand up for what they believe in, and defend their rights with lethal force if needed goes against the core beliefs of progressives.

Mind you – this kind of thinking is not unique to American progressives. This is straight out of the Communist playbook. Mao Zedong, whose policies killed tens of millions of people in China kind of like Obamacare killed and is still killing tens of thousands of Americans, stated that political power flows from the barrel of the gun. He was able to implement his policies without a word of protestation from the citizenry precisely because the citizens were unarmed.

Similarly, in the Soviet Union, Joseph Stalin was able to send tens of millions of people to labor camps only because the citizenry was unarmed. Here is what Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn had to say about it.

“What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say goodbye to his family?

Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of an entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood that they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?

The organs of the state would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!”

Our Founding Fathers were well aware of the perils of a big government. It is precisely why they said that only a well-regulated militia can ensure the security of a free state. In other words, the state remains ‘free’ only as long as the citizens have the right to arm themselves and defend their life, property, and rights with lethal force if needed.

Why Gun Control Never Works

Contrary to what left-liberals claim, gun control laws are not effective at reducing gun-related violence and killings. A good example is Illinois, where scores of ‘inner-city youth’ shoot and kill each other almost on a daily basis, despite the fact that the state has implemented some of the most restrictive gun control laws in the country.

Remember – criminals have guns. Even if you impose the most restrictive of gun control laws, they will still be able to buy guns illegally from arms dealers. It’s the honest, law-abiding citizen who will be hung out to dry.

Remember the shooting that took place in a Texas church back in December? When a deranged lunatic started shooting people, a 64-year old church member shot and killed him within a few seconds.

Now, imagine the same scenario in Washington, Illinois, Connecticut, or any other place where gun control laws have been implemented. Scores of people would have been killed and there is nothing anyone could have done about it.

Second Amendment is a Defining Feature of America

America was built by settlers who had to fight their way to lay the foundation of a modern country. They had to hunt wild animals, defend themselves from other groups of people, and secure their territory, all of which would have been impossible if they hadn’t been armed to the teeth.

The right to bear arms is the essence of what it means to be an American. From the Revolutionary War to the Civil War, we have always believed in fighting for what they strongly believe in.

Left-liberals know this better than anyone else. They know that if they announced tomorrow that they will be taking everyone’s guns away, they will be met with stiff resistance from the citizenry. As the recent protests in Virginia show, Americans are still faithfully clinging on to their guns and Bibles, much to the dismay of progressives.

Misguided Liberal Attempts

Liberals have been following a two-pronged strategy to implement gun control laws, and it is important to understand their nefarious intent. First, they are brainwashing our students in schools and colleges on the evils of gun ownership. As a result, over 50% of college-educated Americans now support strict gun control laws, but this changes once they buy a home and start a family for the most part.

What type of father does not teach his kids how to handle a gun? A derelict one – that’s who.

Secondly, and more importantly, they are facilitating the demographic makeover of America through uncontrolled illegal immigration. A study by Pew Research Center shows that Hispanics tend to support gun control laws more than any other demographic in the country.

Over 60% of Hispanics believe that the government must restrict gun ownership. Now, if you take a look at the countries from which illegal aliens and refugees are coming from, you will be able to understand the sinister motives of liberals and what they have in store for us in the long run.

The Bottom Line

The bottom line is that the right to bear arms is what makes America a free country. So, we should never, ever allow liberals to tinker with the Second Amendment. As Thomas Jefferson said, eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.
