FUNDED: Hold The Line Fundraiser for Darrian Young, Monroe County Animal Control Officer

100% of the net profits will be donated in memory of Officer Darrian Young to benefit Officer Young’s family.

Darrian Young, age 24, sacrificed her life in the line of duty. On Saturday, June 6 she succumbed to injuries sustained two days earlier when she was hit by a suspected drunk driver.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office animal control officer was driving near the intersection of South Custer Road and Raisinville Road when her vehicle was struck on the driver’s side by a minivan. The driver of the minivan, a 44-year-old woman who was intoxicated, struck Officer Young’s vehicle as she ran a red light.

The officer was transported to a nearby hospital, where she lost her battle with injuries sustained in the crash Saturday morning.

Officer Young was also a member of the Monroe County Sheriff Posse.
