Smithfield, N.C. — April 29, 2020 — Shield Republic Charities, the charitable arm of American lifestyle brand Shield Republic, announced today that they have raised more than $25K for the family of fallen state trooper Nolan J. Sanders, who served with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. Trooper Sanders lost his life in the line of duty in a single-vehicle crash on I-795 in Wayne County near Pikeville on Friday, March 27.
This week, the Shield Republic team presented a check for $25,895.79 to his family in Wilson.
Funds were raised through the sale of special apparel paying tribute to the officer’s sacrifice. The “Hold the Line” campaign for Trooper Sanders included commemorative t-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, hoodies, ladies’ tank tops and decals in Sanders’ honor.
100% of the net profits will be donated in memory of Trooper Nolan Sanders via the North Carolina State Highway Patrol to benefit Trooper Sanders’ family.
Trooper Sanders was traveling north on I-795 at approximately 7:17 pm when his patrol vehicle traveled off the roadway near the 19.5-mile marker. The vehicle struck a concrete culvert off the right shoulder of the roadway and came to rest near impact. Trooper Sanders was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision.
