The Hold The Line Fundraiser for Officer Justin Putnam has ended. Thank you for all your contributions. Because of you, a donation of $9,583.24 was made via the San Marcos Police Department to the family of Officer Putnam.
100% of the net profits will be donated in memory of Officer Justin R. Putnam to benefit Officer Putnam’s family.
Officer Putnam was killed and two other police officers were injured the evening of Saturday, April 18, when a man wearing body armor ambushed the first responders, opening fire with a rifle at Twin Lake Villas Apartments on Hunter Road in San Marcos. The suspect fatally shot himself at the scene. The other two officers are expected to recover.
Putnam, age 31 at the time of his death, had served with the SMPD for more than five years. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas State University.
