The Hold The Line Fundraiser for Officer Chris Ewing has ended. Thank you for everyone that participated. With your help, we were able to make a donation of $3,864.77 to the family of Officer Ewing. The donation is made via the Smyrna Police Department.
100% of the net profits will be donated in memory of Officer Christopher Ewing to benefit Officer Ewing’s family.
On Monday, April 20, Officer Christopher Ewing was on duty when his cruiser was struck by a driver on South Cobb Drive near I-285 in Smyrna. The driver of the vehicle, 35-year-old Robert Lorenzo Cox of Duluth, was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He was charged with felony homicide by vehicle.
Officer Ewing had served with the Smyrna Police Department of Georgia for two years, most recently with the Uniform Patrol Division. The 34-year-old police officer and Air Force veteran was recently recognized with a lifesaving award.
He is survived by his spouse and three children.
On behalf of Shield Republic, we honor Officer Ewing for his sacrifice. Our deepest condolences go out to his family, friends, and the Smyrna Police Department of Georgia.
